Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya have checked into the National Cricket Academy to attain full fitness ahead of the Asia Cup 2025 that starts next month. The tournament will be played in the UAE from September 9 to 28.
Suryakumar Yadav, who underwent a sports hernia surgery in June, is yet to reach his full fitness. A Times of India report came out with an update on his fitness. The reports said that he will need another week almost to regain his full fitness. Meanwhile, there already have been a lot of speculation regarding SKY’s iffy fitness.
He will be training under the watchful eyes of the physios and the medical team. With still enough time left for the Asia Cup to start, it is expected that he will become fit just in time to lead the Indian team for the Continental Cup.

Suryakumar Yadav Shares Fitness Update
Meanwhile, SKY shared a video on his Instagram account of his road to recovery. The video is from a betting session that he underwent at the NCA last week. He captioned the video saying "Can't wait to be back doing what I love," Suryakumar Yadav wrote on Instagram.
Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has also checked in at the NCA. With India playing Test cricket for the last two months, Hardik had a lot of time away from cricket and is now making the hard yards to remain fit for the upcoming Asia Cup. The TOI report said that Pandya will undergo his fitness Test on August 11 and 12. Hardik Pandya started his personal training last month. The Indian all-rounder is expected to play a key role in the tournament.

Shreyas Iyer Completes Fitness Test At The NCA
There are also reports coming in about Shreyas Iyer. He completed his fitness tests at the NCA between July 27 and 29. Despite him scoring a lot of runs for Mumbai in the recent domestic season, Iyer was not selected for the series against England. However, there are reports that he is likely to earn a recall after a long hiatus from the T20I side. Shreyas Iyer has not played a T20I for India since December 2023. Since then, he won the IPL title with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in 2025 and took Punjab Kings (PBKS) to the final in IPL 2025.
