How Much Do The Players Earn in Grade A+, A, B & C Of The BCCI Central Contract?

Champions Trophy 2025 - Prize Money of Team India Revealed

The BCCI announced its newly laid BCCI central contract list on Monday, April 21. As many as 34 players have been included in the category across four grades or categories.

The board has added some players back into the central contract, while some players have been excluded. A total of 8 players have been excluded from the list, with a place also vacated by Ravichandran Ashwin after his international retirement.

Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant was promoted from category B to A. There are four players in Category A+, namely Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah. The BCCI after thinking long and hard have retained the experienced players in the top category. These four players in the top category will earn an annual salary of Rs 7 crores.

BCCI Central Contract List - Salaries For Respective Categories

Grade A+ – Rs 7 crore

Grade A – Rs 5 crore

Grade B – Rs 3 crore

Grade C – Rs 1 crore

Grade A has six players, namely Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya. All of them are multi-format players and hence will earn a sum of 5 crores annually.

Grade B has five players: Suryakumar Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Axar Patel, Shreyas Iyer and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Barring India's T20I skipper SKY, all of them are multi-format players. Iyer has been put in this category after his recent run of performances in international cricket for India. His contract was previously snubbed as he failed to take part in domestic matches. Alongside him, Ishan Kishan was also recalled back into the central contract list. He is placed in Grade C. The above-mentioned players will earn a yearly salary of Rs 3 crores.

Grade C has 19 players who form the core of India's T20I side. All of these players have been included to play more T20I cricket as of now. Varun Chakravarthy earned his maiden BCCI contract after his influential performance in the ICC Champions Trophy. Harshit Rana and Nitish Kumar Reddy also have been rewarded by the board for their consistent performance across formats in their limited international career. Sanju Samson continues to be in the team's plans only in the shortest format as of now. The likes of Prasidh Krishna, Arshdeep Singh,  Rajat Patidar, Dhruv Jurel, Sarafraz Khan and Abhishek Sharma have earned their maiden BCCI contracts. All the 19 players included in Grade C will earn a yearly compensation of Rs 1 crore.
