India's record-breaking 336-run win over England in the second Test in Edgbaston has leveled the five-match Test series 1-1. That India registered such a massive win without the presence of Jasprit Bumrah should have given the team a huge uplift after a crushing loss in the Leeds Test. However, despite India recording such a resounding win, former England captain Michael Vaughan is still backing his team to win the series 3-1.
Before the series, not many experts had predicted India to win even a single Test, let alone by a huge margin without Virat Kohli, Ravi Ashwin, and Rohit Sharma's presence. Under Shubman Gill's fearless leadership, India have played well so far in both Tests. While Vaughan lauded the visitors' efforts with bat and ball in Edgbaston, he says the hosts still hold an edge.
"India have been too good this week... outstanding performance. My prediction is still alive.. 3-1 England." Vaughan posted on X, praising India's dominance from the outset in the second Test.

The cricket expert, while lauding India's performance, was critical in assessing England's ordinary performance in the second Test. In his column for The Telegraph, he said:
"This week, they were back to their bad old ways," he wrote. "Apart from four hours on the third day where Harry Brook and Jamie Smith batted beautifully, they have been totally dominated by India."

The third Test will begin on Thursday, July 10, and will be played at the Lord's Cricket Stadium. Bumrah will likely be back for the game after being rested for the second Test.
